M.E.N.D. (Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death) is a Christian, non-profit organization that reaches out to families who have suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. We publish free bi-monthly newsletters, hold two commemorative ceremonies each year, and host a variety of support groups in the Dallas | Fort Worth area. We also have chapters in Arkansas, Southwest Missouri, Oklahoma, and Northwest Washington; including five additional Texas chapters in Amarillo, Bryan | College Station, Houston, Texarkana, and Wichita Falls.
Walk To Remember
In 1988, former President Ronald Reagan declared the month of October as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month. To commemorate this declaration, many infant loss organizations such as M.E.N.D., hosts what's called, A Walk to Remember. Unlike the name may imply, the WTR is not a "walk-a-thon" or a fundraiser, instead it is a beautiful ceremony to remember our sweet babies in heaven. Although the ceremony does include a very short walk from the check in point to the ceremony site, the main aspects of the event are acknowledging every baby represented, an inspirational speaker, special music, and an unforgettable balloon release.
KCIS Radio Broadcast
Seattle KCIS Radio's Carrie Abbott interviews our own Stacy McGhee (director of M.E.N.D.
Northwest Washington). Stacy shares her personal story
of losing a child at 33 weeks and the pain and loss, but also healing that comes over time.
Garden of Hope
M.E.N.D. desires to bring the Hope Monument to the DFW area.
We have recently updated our Birthday Tributes submission form to include an "also remembering" option.
This provides an option of including the mention of other babies you are remembering in your birthday tribute.
